Note that blocks made out of flux materials cannot be used in the production of pig iron or steel. (Only obsidian and some higher-value ores have a higher material value for stonework.) All flux has a material value of 2, which is twice that of common stone (material value 1), making it preferable for workshops, construction, and almost all stone products. You can't train War Dragons in the current version though unless you screw with the RAWS and remove the EXOTIC tag though because the dungeon master doesn't show up in the current version.Stones which are classified as flux materials can be used in the creation of pig iron and steel at a smelter. They're pretty vulnerable to multi Z level drops, and Dragon's Fire can melt them. It is one of the very few confirmed kills without using another method. (When something shows as legendary in game there are 5 sub ranks that all appear the same).Īnd threw some diminutive humanoid at one and killed it. Some dude trained his throwing to Legendary 4 or so. Oh right I was getting to something with that Bronze Colossus thing. You can't make them without a strange mood but can trade for them, and I think that dwarves can actually equip the items under the new military system. I kind of want to figure out how much damage the two handed weapons do. You can hack off their limbs with adamatine two handed swords though. L|ama: I'm not sure but I know that with the new damage system Bronze Colossi are nigh on impossible to kill. So you always spawn in one regardless of what race you pick (Dwarf, Elf, Human) and even those aren't all that polished. Only human towns have any real detail in them currently. Ordering cartloads of flux stone erryday. I will be happy when the caravan arc is finished so that you can properly make orders on trade goods and things like that. I kind of wanted to lose that fort though, no flux is pretty crappy when you wanna make steel. Then a trade caravan arrived and the guards finished off the goblins, then killed one demon and then promptly got destroyed. Then goblins rocked up at the same time and killed a couple of surface dwarves. So I fought them in a corridor, they have fireballs and icebreath and all this other shit. I made the mistake of breaching into hell from inside my fortress. I had about 130 dwarves at the time I think. I killed something like 50 of them, 50 more still chilling when I lost everyone. My last fortress that I lost was to a whole fuckton of demons. But you can however go and discover your old abandoned fortresses as your adventurer and pick up some of the stuff from there. I also do that on my laptop so that I have less crap running around in caverns and slowing down my game.Īdventure mode isn't really very finished right now, but whatever. Which mean if you want to keep your fort sealed and away from caverns, you need to poke around and dig down differently. It means before hit you lava at the bottom of the earth you don't have to dig through cavern layers. You can go into advanced world generation and turn "Cavern Layers" or something like that from 3 to 0. I'd also like to point out that if you guys want a simpler game experience while you're learning. Would you look at that, it even says "Fe" in the picture of unmined ore for iron ores so you don't have to look up what ore smelts into what! It also shows flux stones different for steel production. Phoebus' Graphic Set - A tileset ! There is a link to a version of Dwarf Fortress Pre-Packaged with that tileset. It is not a replacement for the base UI, it is an addition. Stone Sense Isometric Visualistion Tool - I don't use this because I don't feel the need but some people might like it.
